Rett Cover Angel | PSN Cover

I was so honored by Parenting Special Needs online magazine once again when they chose me to do their cover photo. With colder weather coming, I wanted the image to be wintry. So we set up in Alyssa's room - the room with the best light. We put a white sheet on the floor and then had help from Grandma to hold up a sheet in the back. I put down some white batting for her to sit in and borrowed some wings from a friend and used a headpiece I have in my stash and voila! A winter [Rett] Angel.

PSN July/August 2012 Featuring Jacob

This is a little late in coming but let me just say that summer was not really busy, but it was still brain-draining. Anyone? So I neglected to post this honor.

My client, Jacob, was featured on the July/August 2012 issue of Parenting Special Needs online magazine. This month's issue is on independence and there are so many helpful articles in it. I highly encourage anyone who has contact with Special-Needs individuals to flip through this magazine.

Another PSN Cover! | Birmingham Special Needs Photographer

I again had the honor of having my photography used in Parenting Special Needs online magazine.



As a contributing Photographer for Parenting Special Needs magazine, from time to time, PSN will give me an assignment. At the beginning of October they asked me to see if I could get them a photo of a child with special needs for their Christmas issue. I'm so thankful for Miss E's mom for letting me interrupt her busy schedule to get a Christmasy wardrobe together for the shoot. I climbed up in the attic and pulled down my quirky little Christmas tree and blocks for the shoot.



I'm so excited that they used 2 of the photos from the shoot - the second one for the Christmas gift guide section of the magazine.

Max on Parenting Special Needs

Over a year ago, I wrote this post about Max and how much he loves sensory input. The beach is absolutely his favorite place because of all the sensory input he gets from the wind, the waves, the water, and the sand.



Two weeks ago, Parenting Special Needs online magazine came across my web site and fell in love with my pictures of Max.



We are so proud and honored to have Max on the cover of their 2010 March/April Issues - their Autism issue!



In return, my ad is posted on their site for 2 months. They also requested the text from my God is in the details post to put in their "Proud Moments" section.

My huband, Todd, the writer in the family, rewrote the post so eloquently, renaming it "The Max Effect":

How do you enjoy an afternoon at the beach? Max loves to dive into the sand. He loves to put his face down into the sand in order to intimately feel it, to taste it, and to see the detail of every grain. Max is all about "Full Effect".



How do you enjoy a day at the park? Max has once been known to ignore the standard playground equipment and instead make a mad dash for the adjoining pond. Ignoring the mid-winter temperatures, he proceeded to tread into the shallow end, so proud to have thoroughly experienced the chilly water. Max is all about "Full Effect".



How does having an autistic child change your life? Immeasurable joy and heart-wrenching pain. Unquestioning faith and questioning doubt. The peace of God and the wild rumpus of Max. They both often surpass all understanding, but it's all about "Full Effect", or should I say "Max Effect".

I CAN-NOT BE-LIEVE IT! I entered a photo from a recent session in Pioneer Woman's Black and White Assigment and she chose one of mine out of the over 17,000 entries! Amazing! What an honor!

Cowgirl Diva

Wee! This shoot was extra fun! Chase is an awesome 5-year-old who goes to my church. Her mom, Priscilla, found this Layla Grayce Pettiskirt and matched it up with some vintage cowboy boots from her uncle to create a very "Cowgirl Diva" outfit. Layla Grayce was so impressed with Miss Chase that they decided to purchase a couple of the photos for use in the online material! Here are my favorites from the shoot.
