I'm still here!

It's been a month since deadly tornado's ripped through Alabama killing more than 200 and wiping out entire communities within the span of a just a few minutes. Other things have seemed more important than my blog since then so it's been at the bottom of the totem poll, but I'm still here.

My husband had all 5 of us in our closet waiting out the storms as they passed over. The day after was a strange one since we never even lost power and yet 10 miles north, some couldn't even identify their homes. I didn't know how to go about my day as normal while so many began the digging out of their lives from the rubble.

There's much work to do now. With 100,000 cubic feet of debris to clear, it will be years before people have their lives back together. There's so much in this world that we attempt to control... sickness, financial security, disability, but we cannot control the weather. There's no stopping it. No cure for the common tornado. Praise God that while our lives can change in an instant, He's the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow. He's our only constant.

Most Church's are doing some cleanup from time to time, so get plugged in there as well. As Christian's, it's our duty to meet peoples' needs. Praying and giving are essential as well, but getting physically involved will change your perspective completely.
