The 5 Wild Things

" And now,...let the wild rumpus start!"

This post is long overdue. Suzanne has been a good friend of mine for several years. About 3½ years ago Suzanne led a support group for mother's of special-needs children - it was a wonderful, understanding group of women who knew what it's like to raise a child with special needs and it was happening at the right time for me.

A little over a year ago, I found Suzanne sitting in the Church lobby as I took our class' roll to the Life Connection office. God led me to invite her to our class that day and she's been a faithful member every since.

Suzanne and I share the same attitude...Laugh or you're gonna cry! She exemplifies what it means to find humor in every situation.

Suzanne had asked me to do her family's portraits. Oddly enough, every time we scheduled the shoot, something came up for one of us. One Sunday afternoon, she went on a walk with her family in a small, secluded trail in Hoover. The minute they started walking up the hill, she knew that was where she wanted the portraits done, so one Saturday morning, I went on a hike with the T family.

Suzanne's oldest son, J, has a very unique spirit. He loves babies, 80's music, and is very aware of the dangers of light sockets. Joshua has Aspergers and this gives him a very unique perspective on life.

J and his dad are kindred spirits.

W is a few years younger and has a very vivacious spirit.

And then there's sweet Z. The pride and joy of his big brothers, Z is treasured and loved dearly.

He loves his mama!

Suzanne and Cliff are a funny, silly, sweet couple.

Suzanne and her "sons of thunder"

Suzanne's men.

T Family, you are such a pleasure to know and were so much fun to photograph.

Follow the blessings and antic of Suzanne life on her blog, Where The Wild Things Blog.

  1. Sarah, you did a wonderful job of showing my family. They are my pride and joy. Your name has been passed alone to others so I hope this site will create an interest and help you. Thank you for being such a good friend to my girl. She needs that with all the boys she has. Have a Merry Christmas.
